The reason why Google, Apple and Windows have dominated the smart phone market is because of their smart and innovative. Research In Motion, the developers of blackberry’s operating systems, are about to come up with the new version, Blackberry 10. It will be a huge task for the company to impress its users to buy the new Blackberry phones.
RIM has lost its hold in the market in recent years because of their delays in product launches, and lack of acknowledgement to their own hitches. While other developers have shown their best in these times and clearly sided way RIM from the competition.
But, with a new team, they promise to come back at their rivals with their masterpiece. The smart phones that will be launched with this operating system are not the leaders of the market either. They are hungry competitors who actually rely on the success of this new operating system. Rim really needs to arouse anticipation of this new release and most importantly, live up to the expectations when the time comes.
Blackberry 10 needs Extreme Marketing
Marketing will make a lot of difference under the current circumstances when a smart phone war is going on. The budget should be set high and the company should plan wisely to make the most of it. TV commercials, social media, everything should be aimed specifically in order to provide a quality campaign for Blackberry 10.
RIM should keep in mind that it is not in a position as of Apple. Apple is a company that doesn’t need much camping to create the buzz. It has by default, enough craze in the market that it doesn’t need to focus on the marketing side. Blackberry needs to learn from the likes of Samsung. Even though, Samsung’s Galaxy SIII was a huge hit, they still have their hands on commercials to keep their position steady. Frank Boulben, chief marketing officer of RIM, has acknowledged that he is on talks with the mobile carriers and other media to make the necessary arrangement on promotional materials.
Always be To the Point
RIM needs to focus on the details of their new operating system rather than opting a smarter way which may lead to lack of clarity amongst the consumers. It strongly requires to show the users why and how it will change the way they see things. For instance, the developers should be focusing more on the new improvements “Flow” and “Peek”. Flow is the operating system’s new scheme for navigation and Peek will be enhancing the accessibility of the apps.
Boulben said that they are aware of this fact nd they will be constraining the ads towards showing rather than telling. He added that it will be focusing on each of the features with different examples. He also stated that the carriers have really liked the new OS BB10, and they will be supporting to make it huge success.
Well, let’s hope for the best. As this will be the last shot for RIM to gain its position back into the big leagues.
